UQ Psychology Clinic fees

The Psychology Clinic operates on a fee-for-service basis.

Psychological Therapy

Appointments are usually between 50 and 60 minutes in duration.

We are a not-for-profit clinic. Client fees are used to support the clinical, training and research activities of the Clinic. Fees for our services are:

  • General
    $40 per 50-60 minute session.
Production of written reports or assessment findings attracts a further fee of $130.
  • Concession
Full-time students, health care cardholders, veteran's affairs cardholders and pensioners are eligible for a discounted fee of $25 per 50-60 minute session, as well as a discounted fee of $100 for written reports.

Medicare rebates: As provisional psychologists at the UQ Psychology Clinic are provisionally registered with the Psychology Board of Australia, they are ineligible for a Medicare Provider Number. Therefore, Medicare rebates cannot be claimed for services provided by provisional psychologists at the Clinic. As a result, Clinic fees are kept at affordable rates.

Private health insurance: Clients who are comprehensively covered by private health insurance funds may not be able to claim rebates from their insurer for services provided by the UQ Psychology Clinic. Some private health insurers may refuse payment on the grounds that they do not view the Clinic as a private practice provider. Enquires regarding cover for services provided by the Clinic should be directly addressed to your private health insurance fund.

Neuropsychological assessment

A neuropsychological evaluation can include an assessment interview, test administration, test scoring, report preparation and feedback. Click here for further information on what is involved in neuropsychological assessments.
